Celestial Crochet Edging

Continuing the theme of crochet edgings I recently came across this one – Celestial by Sandi Marshall.

Starting chain should be a multiple of 4, plus 6. If you aren't familiar with "multiple of" for a starting chain, there's an explanation of it at this link:http://crochet.about.com/od/learnbasics/qt/multiple.htm

Row 1: Dc in 8th ch from hook (counts as first dc and ch 2), * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch **. Repeat the directions between * to ** across, as many times as needed. Ch 1. Turn.

Row 2: (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in ch 2 sp; * ch 1, (skip next dc), sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 1, (skip next dc), (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp **. Repeat the directions between * to ** across, as many times as needed; end with sc at end of row. Ch 3. Turn.

Row 3: (Skip 2 dc), dc in ch 3 sp, ch 6, dc in same ch 3 sp, ch 3, (skip 2 dc), sc in sc, * (skip 2 dc), ch 3, (dc, ch 6, dc) in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, (skip 2 dc), sc in next sc **. Repeat the directions between * to ** across, as many times as needed.

Row 4 (Optional): Version 1 ch 1 to turn, * 3 sc in ch 3 sp, 6 sc in ch 6 sp, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sl st in next sc **. Repeat the directions between * to ** across, as many times as needed.

Row 4 (Optional) Version 2 ch 1 to turn, * 3 sc in ch 3 sp, (3 sc, ch 3, sl st in base of ch 3 just made [picot made], 3 sc) in ch 6 sp, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sl st in next sc **. Repeat the directions between * to ** across, as many times as needed.
